I had a dream last night
It shook me to my core
I woke up drenched in sweat
And lying on the floor
Sobbing uncontrollably
I tried to catch my breath
So glad to be alive
not sure I’d escaped death
I was sure it was real
That I was in that place
I can still see the pain
Reflected on His face
I was holding thirty pieces of silver
They felt cold in my hands
I couldn’t stop the trembling
As the blood rushed from my head
What have I done – please take them back
It’s too high a cost – it’s to great a loss
Thirty pieces of silver, once it seemed so great
Now thirty pieces of silver, have sealed a deadly fate
I was sure I was right
And they promised me
That He wouldn’t get hurt
And they would set Him free
But when they came for Him
They beat Him to the ground
Then made a ring of thorns
And placed it on His crown
They started telling lies
They called Him a disgrace
I can still see the pain
Reflected on His face
So glad it was a dream
Thank God it wasn’t real
I just can’t seem to shake
The way it made me feel
Now it’s got me thinking
About what things are worth
And how I treat my Savior
Each day here on Earth
